Apply for a Rhode Island marriage license up to 90 days before your Rhode Island elopement. If you live in Rhode Island, you and your partner should apply for a marriage license at a City or Town Clerk where you live. If you do not live in Rhode Island, you need to go to the City or Town Clerk where your ceremony will take place. Either way, you will need identification documents and payment for the fee to get your marriage license. Rhode Island does not have a waiting period, so you can get married as soon as you get it!
