Emily and Nick’s New Hampshire Proposal

Nick had sent me a last-minute message asking if I would capture his proposal in just a few days on a beautiful beach in New Hampshire. He was planning to propose to his girlfriend Emily but had some really special ideas in mind. They have two golden retrievers together and wanted to make sure they could be included in the proposal as well! I loved that they wanted to include their beautiful dogs!

Nick planned to propose at a spot at Hampton Beach in New Hampshire that he and Emily had shared many walks and special moments at. I positioned myself on the beach by the large rocks that bordered the seawall (to be as inconspicuous as possible). I set up my long-range lens and waited for the text from Nick that he was on his way to the beach. The butterflies started growing in my stomach as I knew how special this moment would be.

Nick and Emily made their way onto the beach and walked right into the area we had planned for. After a few minutes of them enjoying the view and letting the dogs run, Nick had the dogs run over to his parents who also made their way onto the beach. His parents secretly added a special dog tag to each of their collars. One collar said “Will you marry me?” and the other said “Nick & Emily 9.7.20”. As the dogs were on their way back to Emily, Nick kneeled down behind her and took out the ring. She turned around, saw him kneeling, and instantly started tearing up with all sorts of amazing emotions. She was totally in shock and the dogs wanted to be a part of the moment as well as they were snuggled right in between them as Emily said yes to Nick forever. It was an absolutely beautiful moment that had me pretty emotional as well.
